Hello! I’m Leah
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC)
I have been working in the field for over 15 years. I received my Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy at the Family Institute at Northwestern University, along with extensive clinical training at the Family Institute’s Bette D. Harris Family and Child Clinic.Â
After graduating from the Family Institute, I began working as an Adolescent and Family Substance Abuse Counselor on Chicago’s North Shore. The majority of my clients were mandated into counseling by their families, their schools, or by the Court. It was this work that honed my skills in working with individuals and families impacted by substance abuse.

I am an experienced clinician who works with couples, families and individuals seeking to address a range of issues that impede their ability to have the kinds of relationships they want or experience a sense of satisfaction with themselves and with their lives. My training as a substance abuse counselor gives me the skills to help couples, families and individuals examine the impact of substance use on their behavior, their relationships and their families.
A Safe Connection
Making the decision to see a therapist- and then actually engaging in therapy- can be daunting. I believe that the relationship forged between the therapist and client is essential to effective and efficient therapy. I will help you feel welcome and secure in our work together so you will be able to identify your goals, explore your strengths and make decisions about how to move forward during and after our work together.
I Work With Couples, Families and Individuals
Couples Therapy
I will work with you and your partner to address concerns about conflict management, roles and boundaries with respective families of origin, and communication patterns.
Family Therapy
Family Therapy means that all family members available and willing to meet come together for weekly sessions to address issues affecting the family system. We will look at boundaries, roles and relational patterns.
Individual Therapy
Counseling involving an individual client to address concerns about their familial or social contexts and situations.
